What is the difference between Carried Downward Breath; The Prenatal Foundations and Harnessing Prana; Advanced Prenatal Techniques?
Carried Downward Breath; The Prenatal Foundations covers how to teach an asana class to pregnant beings. The emphasis then is which poses and/or breath techniques to avoid, which to modify, which to focus on and why. To connect to this why we study the fundamentals of pregnancy and movement in pregnancy as well as the key physiological changes in pregnancy. While at the same time, honoring that not all pregnancies are alike (and that differing expectant students might require some differing approaches.) As such, we explore how to teach to and how to sequence for varying pregnancy bodies with quite varying needs. This program supports one in teaching a skillful prenatal asana class.
Harnessing Prana; Advanced Prenatal Techniques is for teachers who already know the fundamentals of pregnancy, movement in pregnancy and the key physiological changes in pregnancy; and who likewise already know which poses and/or breath techniques to avoid, which to modify, which to focus on and why. Building on this existent knowledge base, this program covers niche specialized topics which can be offered as a series of workshops or which can boost the depth of ones private or group prenatal classes. These specialized topics include: pelvic floor awareness for birth preparation, breath work and hand gesture to support pregnancy plus labor & delivery, restorative yoga techniques for common pregnancy discomforts and postpartum fundamentals.
These two programs are, in essence, a Level 1 and a Level 2.
